Equipment Hire

(Available from Woodcroft)

The following items of equipment are available for groups to borrow or hire from The Woodcroft Scout Centre.
Please be aware that certain equipment can only be used with qualified instructors.
All items MUST be booked out* and not removed from Woodcroft unless by prior arrangement.
When equipment is taken away from Woodcroft, the leader in charge of the activity must fill in the “Equipment Borrowed” book and state the date of return.
All equipment must be returned at the arranged time and in good clean condition. Any items requiring service should be reported.

1. Display boards
2. Loud hailer
3. Indoor and outdoor sports equipment for rugby, soccer, cricket and hockey
4. Play parachute
5. First aid kit in bag
6. Large chess set
7. Large draughts board and draughts
8. 4 x Resusciannes (see notes below )
9. Archery equipment (see notes below)
10. 2 x Marquees (see separate section below)

Resusciannes are for hire at a small charge (for replacement of disposable parts etc). These must be booked with Andrew Chatwin Tel: 01536 518931

Marquee Hire
Hire Charges:
45ft x 30ft – £200 per weekend including delivery, then £1.50 per mile thereafter.
30ft x 20ft – £160 per weekend including delivery, then £1.50 per mile thereafter.
We can erect either marquee for an additional £100.

Conditions of hire – Please read carefully:

1. Hire charges include pitching and striking of the marquees and insurance cover for this and damage to the marquees.
2. All hire fees are to be paid as soon as possible after the hire period.
3. The time for delivery and dismantling the marquees is to be negotiated. Every effort will be made to meet the hirer’s requirements.
4. The person named on the hire form is to be responsible for the safety and security of the marquee whilst it is on the site including any extra time before or after the event.
5. The responsibility of the named person shall not extend to include storm damage, damage caused by incorrect pitching (provided the marquee was pitched by the Scouts), nor faults in the fabric or material of the marquee.
6. The named person shall also indemnify the Scouts in respect of any claims arising from any source; due to the pitching of the marquee eg damage to underground services; or from any claims made by members of the public in respect of injury caused by the marquee or its use however such injuries are caused.
Naked flames must NOT be allowed inside the marquee or within 3 feet of it.
7. Public liability is the responsibility of the hirer.
8. It is recommended that an event organiser liaises with the emergency services regarding access etc.
